Quantitative immunoelectrophoretic analysis in patients with tuberculosis and sarcoidosis.

چکیده
A study of 12 immunologically distinct serum proteins has been made in two conditions, tuberculosis and sarcoidosis, which have in common the formation of giant-cell granulomata. Significantly (P<0001) higher concentrations of five proteins [I2 group component (GC), caeruloplasmin (caer), haptoglobin (hpt), haemopexin (hpx), and a, easily precipitable glycoprotein (a, PGp)] were found in tuberculosis. No significant differences from normal were found in patients with sarcoidosis. The results obtained compared to the available figures for conventional electrophoresis and the so-called 'acute phase reaction' are discussed.

Identification of Mycobacteria species in cutaneous lesions of Sarcoidosis by PCR-Restriction Ragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method
Background: Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous multisystem disease of unknown etiology. It has recently been tired to detect Mycobacteria genome in biopsy specimens of patients with sarcoidosis by Polymorphism chain reaction method. Objective: To detect and identify Mycobacteria species in cutaneous lesions of the patients with sarcoidosis by PCR-RFLP. Patients and methods: 20 patients with clinica...
متن کاملDifferentiation of sarcoidosis from tuberculosis using real-time PCR assay for the detection and quantification of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
BACKGROUND The clinical and pathological features of sarcoidosis and tuberculosis may mimic each other, and when the caseous necrosis is not seen in tuberculosis tissue, differentiation is not easy. OBJECTIVE This study evaluates the ability of real-time PCR quantification and sets the quantitive value to differentiate sarcoidosis from TB. METHODS Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded sectio...
متن کاملRare Association of Severe Cryptococcal and Tuberculosis in Central Nervous System in a case of Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem noncaseating granulomatous disease with a propensity for lung, eye, and skin which recently have been proposed that mycobacterium tuberculosis may contribute in its pathogenesis, and rarely involves central nervous system (CNS). Despite CD4+ lymphocytopenia, sarcoidosis by itself does not increase risk of opportunistic infections other than cryptococcosis.Nonethel...
متن کاملبررسی جهش ژن BTNL2 در بیماران مبتلا به سارکوئیدوز پوستی
Background and Aim: Sarcoidosis is a non-caseous granulomatous disease that can involve several organs such as lung, kidney, liver, heart and skin. In systemic sarcoidosis, skin lesions occur in 20-35% of patients. Cutaneous sarcoidosis with no systemic involvement was found in about 25% of patients. Mutation within Butyrophilin-like 2 (BTNL2) gene, rs2076530 was reported in systemic sarcoidosi...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis of mycobacterial and propionibacterial DNA in lymph nodes of Japanese and European patients with sarcoidosis.
The cause(s) of sarcoidosis is unknown. Mycobacterium spp. are suspected in Europe and Propionibacterium spp. are suspected in Japan. The present international collaboration evaluated the possible etiological links between sarcoidosis and the suspected bacterial species. Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded sections of biopsy samples of lymph nodes, one from each of 108 patients with sarcoidosi...
